I STILL LOVE
BLINDED BY LOVE
A monographic publication on the work of Franko B. The book documents Franko B’s practical research into the politics of performance, covering over 15 years of artistic activity. The works in the volume span from paintings and objects, characterized by the recurring triptych Man-Heart-Cross, to the documentation concerning live performances in which the artist’s flesh and blood become a canvas for the representation of vulnerability, pain and loss.
Contributors: Dominic Johnson, Amelia Jones, Ron Athey, David Thorp, Vaginal Davis, Jennifer Doyle, Achille Bonito Oliva.
OH LOVER BOY
STILL LIFE
Franko B's work focusses on the visceral, where the body is a canvas and an unmediated site for the representation of the sacred. the beautiful, the untouchable, the unspeakable and for the pain, the love, the hate, the loss, the power and the fears of the human condition. This book considers the notions of 'Still Life', from a range of formal and conceptual perspectives; the 'Still Life' of Fine Art traditions, the 'Still Life' of the artist's body as sculpture, the 'Still Life' of sleep and the 'Still Life' of a life that seems to go nowhere.
Franko B is proud to announce ‘Franko B’ – a limited edition box set of ten lambda prints of photographs from his archive. These images were taken over the last twenty years by his collaborators, photographers, other artists and some by Franko B himself. This exclusive set has never been published before and is limited to 150 copies plus 10 artist proofs. The box was published in collaboration with Galleria Pack (Milan) and includes a text by Francesca Alfano Miglietti (FAM).
This monograph features the latest body of work by the artist Franko B and coincides with a major exhibition at the Pavilion of Contemporary Arts in Milan.
"The exhibition of Franko B poses questions, challenges the liberty and judgement of everyone and interrogates the observer on the sense and value of the human body"
